You just got juiced...
Here are a couple facts if you will.
- TV ratings hit an unexpected all time low : "More than 2.5 million fewer people were watching ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox than at the same time last year, statistics show."
- makers of Skype (now @ eBay) and Kazaa just got a boost of $45K for their latest project Joost. It is worth mentioning that Sequoia Capital is also behind early investments in Google, Apple, Cisco, PayPall, Yahoo, Oracle, etc.
- Joost is free broadband 150 TV channels and has deals with major TV corporation
How can we still get screwed over?
Over bandwidth. For now.
Videotron although they have an extremely reliable service they only allow for 10 GB of download per month for their intermediate plan. After that you have to pay extra fees.
OK let's put it this way now:
- internet will be free
- tv will be free
- phone service will be free
- games and entertainment will be free
Communication in general and entertainment and information consumption will mainly be free. So the AOL model of the early 2002 does not hold that well anymore.
Haha, all the old farts in the entertainment industry start to freak out. Imagine when our turn to freak out will come.
